REAL LIFE HORROR INSPIRES
My work looks to challenge the taboos of society through the method of storytelling. I build a storyline structure focusing on characters and have them face the issues that I am attempting to challenge. My main technique for doing this is by combining media into one series of artwork that relates to each other and shows clear development throughout. More recently I have used this technique to explore issues relating to serial killers and sectarianism. Both are subject to scrutiny, for example, the way serial killers are paraded throughout the media and given a level of infamy and sectarianism and why it is still relevant in today's society. It is a false consciousness passed down through generations that Catholics and protestants need to hate each other and not even having a reason why.
